New page

Being able to see a Broadway production is a great experience. Many people even say that it is something for the bucket list. With Broadway show tickets costing more than a hundred dollars each, and more for premium seats, it is no wonder why some individuals are reluctant in buying them. The good news is that with a bit of patience, one can have his or her hands on cheap tickets to Broadway shows.

Where to Obtain Tickets to Broadway at a cheap price.

If you are interested in seeing a Broadway show, but you don’t want to part with a hundred dollars for a ticket, you should check out TKTS outlets in New York as they sell Broadway show tickets which are twenty-five to fifty percent less than the regular ones, meaning around $50 to $75. There are 3 TKTS booths in New York and these are in Duffy Square, South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan, and in Downtown Brooklyn. You can get same-day tickets from the Times Square outlet and tickets to curtain and afternoon performances on the night or day prior to the show at the other two outlets. Another alternative would be to buy Standing Room Only or Rush Tickets hours before a performance, for approximately twenty-five bucks at the box office. Bear in mind though that in most cases, Rush Tickets are given only to those who can present student IDs.

There are also a number of websites that offer discounts on advance sales for many Broadway offerings. However, you should keep in mind that reports of scams among online ticket vendors are not exactly unheard of. Time and time again we hear of consumers, especially visitors from other states or countries that experienced online ticket scams. To avoid any inconvenience and losing money, you must be careful when purchasing tickets through the Internet.

Prior to purchasing, you need to check with the Better Business Bureau if the web-based merchant you intend to buy from is in good standing. Remember to transact only with secure websites as well. You will know if the website is secure when the http changes to https, or there is a padlock icon on the URL or status bar once you are on the order page. Many of these ticket websites allow you to subscribe to updates about available discounted tickets.

You should also check the websites of the shows you are interested in seeing because they often have special offers available. Majority of them have a subscription service as well, and members will receive regular ticket updates via newsletters which are sent through email.
