This is a topic that everyone is apparently arguing about at this time. Everyone trying in order to second-guess Google's actions - which will never do - and asking yourself whether reciprocal linking is dead, dying or if it is something worth carrying on.

Enough of the speculation. Here's the proof. Google do in contrast to reciprocal link directories and they can sniff one out a kilometer off. There was a hyperlink directory on my own site until not long ago, but I have recently removed it, because it acquired become as useful to be a chocolate teapot. Whilst the principal front page with the site has kept it's Google Pr of PR5, in one of these last updates, Google relegated which directory, which had additionally previously had any PR5, to a PR 0. Meanwhile, I had definitely not altered my backlinking structure that pointed to it. I had definitely not altered my guidelines either: I did not connection to any PR0 web sites, kept the variety of links per page into a minimum and there was clearly even text descriptions for every entry listed. Google could tell what it had been and acted as they saw fit. The overall game has changed since the most recent Panda update and even though [http://www.backlinksant.com/edu-links/ edu links], contextual back links, and many other backlinks still carry weight, some link creating methods are far less effective than before.

There's absolutely no point wondering or whining regarding it. They can and they're doing so in order to provide better brings about searchers. You can as it or lump it, but if you would like them to give you decent listings, ranks or send out you any visitors, their rules matter. My advice: forget *artificial* reciprocal backlinking completely. The time arrive at maintain the directory, approve and disaprove distribution (mostly this latter, because the only people still getting links are bad PR0 sites along with spammers) is usually much better invested.
MagdalenHagan75
