The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing all of them to deliver one boy and something girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to sign up inside the annual [http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/3151750 Watch The Hunger Games Online] , a fight on the death on live TV .

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone along with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's devote the Games. But Katniss continues to be near dead before-and survival, on her behalf, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. However, if she's to win, she'll have to begin making choices that can weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Wow....just wow. Absolutely amazing. Honestly, equally emotional and fantastic as being the new I read it. I can't have any idea how to start this review!

Two hundred years earlier, north america was destroyed along with its midst rose the Capitol featuring its surrounding 13 districts. Each district possesses its own life style and then for a period of time lived peacefully. However, after having a time, the districts rose facing the Capitol plus a rebellion ensued. Having its superior weaponry and technology, the Capitol defeated the districts and completely obliterated District 13. To indicate the districts how superior Capitol is, on a yearly basis two children, one boy and something girl from each district, are chosen to address to your death within the Hunger Games. 24 enter, 1 happens. Allow Seventy-Fourth Hunger Games begin.

Y'all need to comprehend that i'm not and emotional person when it comes to books. No, I promise That's not me heartless, I just don't cry easily. Yes, during books my heartrate accelerates and I'll shame the characters, however i don't actually cry. That is one of many only books where I've got come this close to tears. And thats saying something.

But before I get into the many emotional point about this book, I want to first speak about the characters.

Katniss is fantastic. She's incredibly strong and fierce. Now, that's one of the best form of heroine and I are aware that sometimes these start to blend together but something I like about her is the fact that although she could be these products like countless other heroines available, she's not really lovable and witty like others. She's standoffish and also a loner and it also requires a while for anyone to get to her. She's mature beyond her years because this lady has for being. She became the sole supporter of her family at this type of early age plus it hardened her. She's a survivor. But sometimes this difficult exterior became her downfall because she couldn't always see what's right in front of her: the belief that people care about her. However, although its difficult to get past her hardened exterior, as soon as you do, she's a remarkably kind and admirable person. This is especially shown through her actions in the reaping. She cared a lot to be with her family she was able to risk her life, knowing that her chances for returning home were slim, in order to keep her sister safe. If this isn't merit respect, next, i have no idea what's.

Peeta can be another great character. He's virtually the total opposite of Katniss. He's personable, caring, and charming. He truly cares about Katniss whether or not she can't find it herself. Although you may do not get to find out to much about him because from Katniss' perspective, it is possible to still identify that she has admirable qualities too. Normally I favor the alpha male plus the bad-boy (Perhaps its kinda my weakness) however do also discover the sweet, respectful guys we fell head-over-heels for his heart.

In terms of secondary characters? Amazing. Each was unique in her own way. Effie, sweetly oblivious Effie. Haymitch, who may drink a lttle bit to much, but has a heart under that surly exterior. Cinna, who truly cares about Katniss although he hardly knows her. Including the other tributes each had their unique personalities that built them into unique (Don't even get me began Rue!).

This book was just so incredibly emotional. 24 kids enter into an arena and only 1 comes out. I honestly can't even imagine when i was in their situation. I'm sure that I would do whatever it popularized survive, but how would that change me? Each tribute only agreed to be wanting to survive. They did not want to be there (well, except a few), but were forced to be. As soon as your facing your immediate death, what would you do? Survival changes people. These different reactions for their situations were shown remarkably well through all the various tributes. Collins' does a wonderful jobs of showing how each person would fare in this situation. While all of the bloodshed in the arena is disturbing, the most disturbing thing personally was the fact that people of the Capitol enjoyed it. Children were dying as well as them it had been just entertainment. These folks were completely oblivious!! It had been all only a game for them. Providing these people were entertained, we were holding happy. It turned out sick. Completely and utterly sick.

Also to be truthful, I felt awful for that other tributes, whilst they tried to kill Katniss and Peeta. How would you not? These folks were thrown into a situation some of them weren't prepared for and simply looking to get home. While they were her enemies, I felt pity and guilt right together with Katniss. She, too, knows that they were only doing what they have to needed to do just like she was.

The Hunger Games can be a dark book about death and destruction, but within its dark exterior can be a beautiful story filled with survival, hope and fighting for the purpose you like.
WattersSchulz1
