My Mother kept a garden,
a garden associated with the heart,
She planted all the advantageous factors
that gave my lifetime it's commence.
She turned me to the particular sunshine
and in addition encouraged me to dream,
Fostering not to mention nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem...
And also when the particular winds as well as rain came,
she protected me enough-
But definitely not too a lot because she knew
I'd need to stand up strong and even tough.
Her continual advantageous example
usually taught me from wrong-
Markers for my pathway
that can previous a life extended.
I am my Mother's garden.
I am her legacy-
Plus I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me

Somebody's Mother
The girl ended up being older and even ragged and gray
And bent with the cool associated with the winter's day.
The actual street ended up being wet with all the recent snow,
Plus the woman's feet were aged and slow.
She stood at the crossing not to mention waited long
Alone, uncared for, amid the actual throng
Of human beings whom passed her by,
Nor heeded the glance of her anxious eye.
Down the actual street with laughter and in addition shout.
Glad within the versatility of "school let out,"
Came the guys like a flock of sheep,
Hailing the snow piled white and even deep.
Past the actual woman and so older as well as gray
Hastened the children on their way,
Nor granted a helping hand to be able to her,
Thus meek, and so timid, concerned to stir,
Lest the actual carriage wheels or the particular horses' feet
Should really crowd her down inside the slippery street.
At previous came specific of the merry troop,
The actual gayest laddie of almost all the group;
He paused alongside her plus whispered low,
"I'll enable you across should you want to go."
Her aged hand on his strong young arm
She placed, and so, without having hurt and / or damage,
He guided her trembling feet along,
Proud which his very own happened to be fast plus strong.
Then back to his close friends he went,
His young heart happy and even perfectly content.
"She's somebody's mom, guys, you recognize,
For all she's aged not to mention bad plus slow;
"And in addition I hope a lot of fellow can lend a hand
To help my mother, you know,
Once ever she's bad not to mention old as well as gray,
Whenever her very own dear boy can be far away."
And even "somebody's mother" bowed low her head
In her home which evening, plus the prayer she said
Had been, "God be type with the particular noble boy
Whom typically is somebody's son and delight and also joy."
